Want to tell the world about your company? Then by all means, nominate your firm for Plastics News' Processor of the Year Award.
Plastics News is seeking nominations and marking the 10th year of the award, which began when Bryan Custom Plastics won the first one.
Based on seven criteria, the award honors a North American plastics processor for its performance, corporate responsibility and overall excellence.
The award is open to all private and public companies or corporate operating divisions engaged in North American plastics processing for at least five years.
Finalists will be named in advance, but we will keep the winner a secret until the next Plastics News Executive Forum, set for March 5-8 in Tampa, Fla.
Professional and financial services firm Ernst & Young Corporate Finance Inc. again will co-sponsor the award and reception at the forum.
Deadline for entries is Oct. 20.
To nominate a company - your own, a customer's or a supplier's - submit a nomination form and a letter briefly explaining why the company deserves the honor. Include examples of such activities as innovative employee programs, civic responsibility, industry support or exceptional performance in any area. The form is available online at www.plasticsnews.com/nominate/poyform 2006.html.
Hard-copy versions of the nomination form also will be available at PN's booth at several upcoming trade shows. Those forms may be submitted to Processor of the Year, Plastics News, 1725 Merriman Road, Akron, Ohio, 44313 or faxed to (330) 836-2322.
Again this year, senior reporter Bill Bregar is coordinating the award. He can be reached at (330) 865-6158 or [email protected]
A team of judges from Plastics News' editorial staff, with help from Ernst & Young, will pick the finalists and eventual winner from eligible nominees. The seven criteria are: financial performance, quality, customer relations, employee relations, environmental performance, industry and public service, and technological innovation.
The winner will join a prestigious group. Miniature Precision Components Inc. of Walworth, Wis., was our most recent Processor of the Year. Past winners are Jarden Plastic Solutions of Greer, S.C. (formerly called Unimark Plastics); Precise Technology Inc. of North Versailles, Pa.; Tech Group Inc. of Scottsdale, Ariz.; Cascade Engineering Inc. of Grand Rapids, Mich.; Tessy Plastics Corp. of Elbridge, N.Y.; Royal Group Technologies Ltd. of Woodbridge, Ontario; Courtesy Corp. of Buffalo Grove, Ill.; Nypro Inc. of Clinton, Mass.; and Bryan Custom Plastics of Bryan, Ohio.
