Ampacet Corp. has expanded its color concentrate plant in Rayong, Thailand, to meet growing Asian demand.
Tarrytown-based Ampacet added several new extrusion lines to make custom color products. The firm also added a lab for development work and pilot lines for film extrusion, blow molding and injection molding.
The firm's 6-year-old facility now covers 110,000 square feet and can produce almost 45 million pounds of concentrates annually.
The plant originally focused on white and additive masterbatches. Ampacet's sales in Asia are growing 30 percent annually, officials said.
