Hudson Color Concentrates Inc. has developed two product lines geared to recycled plastics and to wood-plastic composites.
EverLast color concentrates for recycled resins provide consistent color match and hold, better dispersion and improved cycle times compared with conventional concentrates, said the Leominster, Mass., privately held firm. The new line is available in ten standard colors as well as in custom hues for use with PET, polyethylene, PVC and other post-consumer and post-industrial thermoplastics. Applications include building products, playground structures and housewares.
Hudson's EverWoods concentrates for wood-plastic composites come in six colors or can be custom matched. Hudson claims the concentrates offer good dispersion and surface appearance, dimensional stability, no edge tearing and faster line speeds in composites based on PET, PVC, polystyrene, polypropylene and other polymers.
Target markets are where durability, low warpage and impact resistance are important, as in picnic tables, decking, marine uses and outdoor spas.
