Piovan SpA to unveil drying equipment
Italian auxiliary equipment maker Piovan SpA will display its new PET drying equipment at the PETpoint show, to be held Sept. 12-17 in Munich, Germany.
Piovan drying hoppers dry PET resin so the temperature of the air leaving the hopper is at a level that does not require cooling.
The controller manages all functions, including feeding, heating, drying, mold conditioning and masterbatch dosing. Piovan said that means the system uses the lowest possible amount of energy - using the Automatic Energy Management Kit. Also, half of the energy that regenerates the desiccant beds is transferred back into the process circuit.
Another product, the PETes AA analyzer, allows you to test the complete, intact PET preform. Traditional testing instruments require the operator to cut, grind and weigh the preform before it is analyzed, according to Piovan, in Santa Maria di Sala, near Venice.
The company's North American operation, Piovan Canada Ltd., is in Mississauga, Ontario.
