Dirk Yerian, founder of custom machinery maker ReSource Inc., has started another business to focus on equipment for rotational molding, called Innovex Systems LLC.
Innovex also has a new product: a high-intensity mixer blade the company claims improves blending by eliminating color plate-out for both dry and liquid pigments added to rotomolding powder.
``Any product that is pre-mold processing rotomolding equipment will be marketed through Innovex,'' Yerian said in a July 27 interview at the Tallmadge headquarters of both businesses. Innovex is building a stable of standard products, including material handling, blending, pre-heating and resin dispensing, he said.
The company will exhibit as Innovex at the Association of Rotational Molders International fall meeting and trade show, Sept. 20-21 in Rosemont, Ill.
Innovex is offering the new mixer blades - in four- and six-blade versions - on its own blenders, and as a retrofit item for other brands. ``We can adapt them to any blenders out there in the industry,'' Yerian said.
The design of the blades stops plate-out, which occurs when the color pigment builds up on the mixing blade. When the blobs of color flake off, it causes areas of heavy color on the molded parts, which have to be scrapped.
