Next Generation Films Inc. has acquired new machinery for both of its Lexington plants, said Chairman and Chief Executive Officer David Frecka.
The company installed a $1 million coaxial line at its 30,000-square-foot bag-making facility, Frecka said in an Aug. 19 telephone interview. Its 68,000-square-foot film site received a three-layer coextrusion line from Hosokawa Alpine American; that line cost about $2.5 million, he said.
``We also put a rail yard into service this year,'' he said.
For 2006, the company intends to add a seven-layer coextrusion line and another Alpine three-layer extruder at the film plant. Frecka said Next Generation also will add about 20 workers.
The company currently employs 100.
