Simona America Inc. seeking new facility
MOUNTAIN TOP, PA. - Simona America Inc. is searching for a new facility, said John Ploskonka, vice president of sales and marketing.
Simona has shared a facility in Mountain Top with HPG International Inc. since 2004. Currently Simona occupies 65,000 square feet of the plant.
``The move would double out existing space,'' Ploskonka said by telephone. ``That would include additional warehouse space to house products from Simona AG that Simona America does not produce, especially rods.''
Ploskonka said that the company is scouting a few facilities, but no final decision has been made. He expects Simona to make a final decision by early 2006.
The company also intends to add two extruders - one single-screw and one twin-screw - by early next year.
Ploskonka also listed some product-line expansions for the coming months.
Simona will be manufacturing heavier-gauge polyolefin sheets and foam PVC.
