Former SPI official Buzz Lippincott, 72, died Aug. 31 at a Philadelphia hospital of complications from acute myeloid leukemia and cardiovascular disease. A memorial service will be held at a date to be determined.
Lippincott, a Princeton resident, served as statistics director for the Society of the Plastics Industry Inc. in Washington from 1987-98. He was active in the plastics industry during his career, heading up marketing for such companies as Atlantic Richfield Co. and Arco Chemical Co., both of Philadelphia, and Princeton's Oxirane Corp. He was elected president of the Chemical Management and Resources Association in 1980.
Lippincott held a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Colorado and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
