Instrument supplier Malvern Instruments Ltd. has opened a new office in Shanghai, China.
The office houses a customer demonstration and training facility. Malvern's laboratory in Shanghai features a range of particle characterization and rheology systems.
The company also has satellite offices in Chengdu, Guangzhou, Beijing and Xi'an.
Malvern's direct operations in China started in April 2004, and were based in temporary offices.
Currently Malvern employs a total of 20 in China, including two applications specialists, said marketing manager Christine Han, in Shanghai.
The Malvern-based company sold its first machines to China in the early 1980s, primarily to the petrochemical sector.
Malvern is a unit of Spectris plc, a specialty instrumentation and electronic controls company.
