ACH Foam Technologies LLC - a newly formed company created by combining three related polystyrene foam makers - is expanding its Kansas City, Kan., operations with the acquisition of a 100,000-square-foot facility and a planned uptick in capacity.
The new space will allow ACH's Kansas City operations to remove inventory from warehouses scattered throughout the area and bring them under one roof. The company also will bring in new machinery to mold expanded PS for general and custom foam packaging applications.
Richard Nickloy, executive vice president, said ACH also will launch some new products. Nickloy said in a telephone interview that the company would move into the new space the week of Dec. 12.
ACH Foam Technologies may add as many as 35 new jobs, according to Nickloy. Overall, ACH - a combination of Kansas City-based Contour Products Inc., Denver-based Advance Foam Plastics Inc. and Heartland EPS Inc. in Fond du Lac, Wis. - has about 300 employees and anticipates 2006 sales in the $100 million range.
ACH has 10 North American plants, including a facility in Tijuana, Mexico. ACH's corporate headquarters is in Denver. The firm is affiliated with Burnsville, Minn.-based marketing firm AFM Corp.
Many of ACH's products are sold under the R-Control brand name.
