Collins & Aikman Corp. - The Troy, Mich.-based automotive supplier has hired a Ford Motor Co. veteran to run its $1.6 billion plastics unit. Dennis Profitt joins C&A on Jan. 1 as president of plastics and will oversee all manufacturing, tooling, process engineering and quality issues for the unit. He previously managed the $2 billion renovation of Ford's Rouge manufacturing complex and oversaw the automaker's operations in Belgium.
