John Theberge, 69, a founding partner of specialty plastics compounder TP Composites Inc. of Aston, died Oct. 14 from complications during surgery.
Theberge, a graduate of Stonehill College in Easton, Mass., earned a master's degree in chemistry from Notre Dame and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts.
In the early 1960s, he moved within General Electric Co. to its plastics business, and then moved to LNP Engineering Plastics, known at that time as Liquid Nitrogen Processing Co.
He retired from LNP in 1989 and founded MDC Corp. a plastics-industry consulting firm. Theberge became a founding partner in TP Composites Inc. in 1994.
Although battling colon cancer, he continued to be active in product development activities until his death.
Theberger co-wrote many technical papers during his career, and he was a frequent speaker at the Antec and NPE conferences.
Theberger is survived by his wife and three children.
