Brian Marvelley is back as president and chief executive officer of Battenfeld Gloucester Engineering Co. Inc.
In April, Marvelley left the top spot at the Gloucester-based maker of film, sheet and foam machinery. He remained with Battenfeld Gloucester's parent company, SMS Plastics Technology of Dusseldorf, Germany. SMS also makes American Maplan- and Cincinnati-brand extruders and Battenfeld injection molding machines.
Marvelley's work at the corporate level involved the North American organization, according to a Battenfeld Gloucester spokesman.
Kurt Schneider, named to replace Marvelley as Battenfeld Gloucester's president and CEO in July, has left the company, the spokesman said.
SMS also said Harold Wrede, the former, longtime top executive at Battenfeld Gloucester, has been appointed chairman of Battenfeld Gloucester.
Wrede retired as president and CEO at the end of 2000, but stayed on as chairman of the Battenfeld Chen Extrusion Systems operation based in Shunde, China - a position he will continue to hold.
SMS announced the personnel news Dec. 16.
