Paul Horton has worked for Intralox, a subsidiary of Laitram LLC, for the past 17 years. An injection molder with more than 100 presses on a large campus in New Orleans, Intralox invented modular plastic conveyor belting in 1971 and says it still is the world´s largest manufacturer of those products. Horton began at the firm in 1989 as principal engineer. He became engineering manager in 1994 and added plant manager´s duties seven years ago. He has bottom-line responsibility for new product development, plant automation, injection molding and mold making for the organization.
Prior to joining Intralox, Horton worked for 12 years at Traction Propulsion Inc. in Austin, Texas, and was president there from 1984-89. That research and development firm focused on developing rolling traction drives for both military and civilian customers.
Horton holds bachelor´s and master´s degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas, and an MBA from Tulane University.
