Steve Zinger is a partner at Houston-based CMAI (www.cmaiglobal.com), primarily responsible for managing the firm's global consulting services related to propylene, heavy olefins and elastomers. He is a regular contributor to several of CMAI's multiclient services and reports, and he actively manages proprietary, single-client project studies in areas such as financial analysis, project feasibility, market development, expert witness testimony and price forecasting. Zinger frequently travels throughout the world to discuss market dynamics with producers, consumers, financial companies, engineering firms and other petrochemical industry support groups.
A chemical engineering graduate of Virginia Tech University, he has worked for Shell Oil Co. in Norco, La., and in Houston. Zinger held various olefins unit process engineering assignments, participated in several related asset acquisition projects, developed economic models of olefins plants and refineries, managed olefin production units, and organized competitor benchmarking programs. While at Shell, he also earned a master's of business administration degree at Tulane University in New Orleans.
