The plastics industry honored three of its own recently, when the Alliance of Plastics Processors celebrated the contributions of three structural plastics veterans.
APP - a unit of Washington's Society of the Plastics Industry Inc. - surprised Don Wisch, president of Charlotte, N.C.-based Delta Mold Inc., with its 2006 Industry Recognition Award at its April 2-4 annual conference in Columbus. Wisch has been part of the APP executive committee since 2000 and ``has worked hard to strengthen [the division's] financial position,'' leaders said.
The group also named two new members to its Pioneers Club, which honors outstanding members of the structural polymer industry.
This year APP inducted John Waanders and Ed Hunerberg. Waanders was founding president of DeKalb Molded Plastics and helped pioneer structural foam molding. Hunerberg, executive director of Uniloy Milacron's structural foam machinery business, started with Springfield Cast Products and has been active in the business for more than 20 years.
