American Leistritz Extruder Corp. (Booth N5544): Twin-screw extruders and systems for compounding, reactive extrusion, devolatilization, foaming and direct extrusion. Firm's ZSE 18-millimeter co-rotating twin-screw unit will produce sheet from a corn-based polylactide resin formulation, which Leistritz claims is the first public display of a PLA sheet demonstration. North America debut of ZSE FLEXX extruder, which allows quick changeover of twin-screw process sections; and of its MAXX twin-screw extruder with outside-to-inside diameter ratio of 1.66-to-1, increasing the free volume by about 30 percent compared with standard designs.
Arburg GmbH + Co. KG (Booth S2160): Injection presses from 14-500 tons of clamping force, including four Allrounder A electric machines featuring the machines' modularity and expandability. Chill roll frame is hinged to allow rolls to be positioned downward or horizontal. Also on display, updated filter tester extruder with gear pump and on-board computer.
M.C. Molds Inc. (Booth S1323): Maker of extrusion blow molds, vacuum form tooling, foam tools and spin trimmers will demonstrate its new DST 2000 double-cut spin trimmer, trimming a dual-cavity 8-ounce milk bottle. The company's extrusion blow molds also will be used in daily demonstrations at Bekum America Corp.'s booth, S1649. Sister company JBJ Products and Machinery will share M.C. Molds' booth and show its standard impact trimmers for downstream deflashing.
