Cooper-Standard Automotive Inc. will be able to keep its name.
The company announced April 20 it had reached an agreement with former parent Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. that will allow it to continue using the name Cooper-Standard.
A private investment group headed by Cypress Group and Goldman Sachs Capital Partners purchased the plastics and rubber sealing unit of Cooper Tire in 2004. The purchase agreement had called for changing the Novi-based company's name in 2006.
