Alpha Marathon Technologies Inc. (Booth E11032): Blown film extrusion lines and air-bubble forming lines. New Abacus series air rings, improved to present the option of a fully automatic air ring.
American Leistritz Extruder Corp. (Booth N5544): Twin-screw extruders and systems for compounding, reactive extrusion, devolatilization, foaming and direct extrusion. Firm's ZSE 18-millimeter co-rotating twin-screw unit will produce sheet from a corn-based polylactide resin formulation, which Leistritz claims is the first public display of a PLA sheet demonstration. North America debut of ZSE FLEXX extruder, which allows quick changeover of twin-screw process sections; and of its MAXX twin-screw extruder with outside-to-inside diameter ratio of 1.66-to-1, increasing the free volume by about 30 percent compared with standard designs.
Arburg GmbH + Co. KG (Booth S2160): Injection presses from 14-500 tons of clamping force, including four Allrounder A electric machines featuring the machines' modularity and expandability. Also Alldrive presses, which allow customers to choose electric or hydraulic drives. Golden Edition machine, available in 44-, 55-, 110-, 165- and 220-ton sizes. Allrounder S presses, including a two-component version. Allrounder U machines, small presses suited to producing small, precision parts. And, Allrounder V series, for insert molding.
Berstorff GmbH (Booth S2102): ZE Basic twin-screw extruder with standardized assemblies for cost-effective performance. Available with screws up to 77mm and screw speeds to 1,200 rpm. Schaumtandex ZE/KE foam extrusion system, with a combination twin- and single-screw extruder. Also film and sheet extrusion, including fabric-reinforced sheet.
Colortronic Inc. (Booth N5026): Cost-efficient Econo temperature control unit for processing plastics.
High Tech Laser & Polishing (Booth N4483): Laser engraving, mold polishing, and mold repair services.
Labtech Engineering Co. Ltd. (Booth N4575): Running a new lab coextrusion line for cast film and sheet. Standard feed block can handle up to five layers. Components are modular. Chill roll frame is hinged to allow rolls to be positioned downward or horizontal. Also on display, updated filter tester extruder with gear pump and on-board computer.
M.C. Molds Inc. (Booth S1323): Maker of extrusion blow molds, vacuum form tooling, foam tools and spin trimmers will demonstrate its new DST 2000 double-cut spin trimmer, trimming a dual-cavity 8-ounce milk bottle. The company's extrusion blow molds also will be used in daily demonstrations at Bekum America Corp.'s booth, S1649. Sister company JBJ Products and Machinery will share M.C. Molds' booth and show its standard impact trimmers for downstream deflashing.
Otto Männer Holding AG (Booth N5975): In hot runners, new valve-gate nozzle for side injection, a nozzle for super-tight axis spacing. New temperature control system. New engineering, consulting division specializing in molds and hot runners for thin-wall injection molded parts.
PFA Inc. (BoothN5943): Debut of the newest Switchmax mold sensor wiring system, along with demonstrations of its setup of mechanical and wire slide switches and sensors.
Prestige Mold Inc. (Booth N5478): Injection mold designs and manufacturing.
STP Rotomachinery Inc. (Booth N7137): Rotational molding machines with patented, swinging, automatic hot-air baffle wings enabling use of direct hot air into hidden parts of molds. Regulation of flow incidence angle for controlled mold heating. A system with sensor-connected intelligent arm for real-time reading of molding and cooling temperatures inside mold. And, a machine that automatically self-regulates cooking and cooling cycle times and adapts to variations in production/process conditions.
