With more interest in recycled resins as raw materials costs rise, companies that make recycling equipment are in full force for NPE 2006.

Plastec North America Inc. (Booth E10521): Showcasing new Moditec Integrated Metal Detection system for its line of ultralow-speed granulators. Designed to work with all types of injection molding processes, especially insert molding. The IMD system provides beside-the-press granulators that have metal detection in the cutting chambers, aimed at preventing damage to knives. Plastec North America is Moditec's sole U.S. distributor.
Precision AirConvey Corp. (Booth N4052): Will introduce its 21-model line of plastic repelletizers that enables film processors to capture edge trim, roll scrap and other film waste, convert it to pellets and reintroduce it into the extrusion process in a closed reclamation loop that safeguards material purity. The line accommodates polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, ABS, metallocenes, coextrusion blends and other commodity and engineering resins.

The HiTorc digitally controlled, magnetic-pulse shredder drive helps achieve high torque when processing tough materials and also decreases energy consumption. Also on display will be its VH-series of horizontal shredders and granulators in 14 models.

Will showcase its new JCP-1760 cleaning oven designed for cleaning larger parts such as screws for extrusion and injection applications, two new pump sizes, seven new continuous screen changers that can be configured either horizontally or vertically to provide continuous polymer flow. New polymer testing products, including the APA 2000, an advanced polymer analyzer that can measure the mechanical properties of thermoset materials before, during and after curing.
