Bunting introduces high-power magnets
Bunting Magnetics Co. calls its NEO FF series drawer magnet a breakthrough in magnetic metal separation for injection molding.
The NEO FF features high-strength, high-temperature neodymium magnets that capture and hold particles of ferrous metal so small that operators may not be able to see them with the naked eye. The drawer magnet is mounted on the feed throat of the injection press. A single, stainless-steel center-drawer guide makes removal and reinstallation of the magnetic drawer fast and easy.
The drawer gasket is made of ethylene propylene diene monomer so it outlasts sponge rubber.
Bunting Magnetics is based in Newton, Kan.

ISRA offers advanced surface inspector
Watch out! Here comes Smash-mouth surface inspection.
ISRA Surface Vision of Norcross, Ga., said its Smash advanced vision system runs faster than competitive systems that inspect a web during production. It quickly identifies the source of defects. A Rewind Manager function can stop the web on pre-selected defects.
The instrument classifies the defects to allow for analysis of problems, trend data, and roll data to optimize slitting. ISRA's Datamining software produces automated statistical reports.

Grieve oven boasts indirect gas heating
No. 914 is not the name of that secret agent on Get Smart. No, it's the indirect gas-heated walk-in oven from Grieve Co. for drying plastic molds.
The gas-fired oven fires the burner into an alloy radiant tube, for indirect heating. A recirculating blower provides horizontal airflow.
Grieve is based in Round Lake, Ill.

Chiller, granulator among ACS products
ACS Group of Wood Dale, Ill., announced several products:
* The Sterling-brand SSC-WT Pinnacle chiller, available in capacities from 30-100 tons, in both air-cooled and water-cooled versions. The chiller features scroll compressors, brazed-plate evaporators and a stainless-steel reservoir tank.
Scroll compressors use 50 percent fewer parts than reciprocating compressors, according to Sterling. That means efficient operation, reliability and reduced noise.
* ACS' new VacTrac series 24/128 controller will be on display at NPE 2006. Features include improved graphics and control of up to 24 vacuum conveying pumps, 128 loading stations and 128 purge valves. The controller uses Allen-Bradley's DeviceNet distributed input/output network and a CompactLogix touch-screen controller.
* Colortronic North America Inc. released its CSR series of vacuum receivers, featuring a modular, stainless-steel design. They can be reconfigured for future production requirements, sized for throughput from just a few pounds to thousands of pounds an hour.
Most models offer a unique discharge throat and counter-weighted flapper, integral level switch, and extra mounting holds in the flange for 12 different mounting orientations.
* Colortronic's M-1000 series granulator includes integrated rotating end discs for low-heat granulation and reduced wear from friction. Other features of the M-1000: easy cleaning and maintenance thanks to a pivoting hopper, a drop-down removable screen cradle and machined, bolted cutting chamber.

Moisture analyzer meets ASTM standard
Arizona Instruments LLC said its moisture analyzer, Computrac Vapor Pro, conforms to ASTM test method D7191-05.
The ASTM standard is called ``Standard Test Method for Determination of Moisture in Plastics by Relative Humidity Sensor.'' ASTM adopted the standard this fall, after the most recent round of balloting.
Relative humidity sensor technology is an alternative to the traditional method of titration.
