Croda Inc. (Booth N4281) developed a slip additive for food-grade polystyrene applications.
IncroMax PS is designed to decrease surface friction and mold release force by as much as 40 percent in high-impact and general-purpose PS grades. Croda claims the new additive does not affect clarity or other physical properties.
IncroMax PS enables continuous machinery runs with fewer rejects. As well, it can help with packing and denesting of molded parts. Slip performance is long lasting and can be achieved at additive loadings as low as 0.5 percent by weight, according to the Goole, England, company.
