Mold component supplier Ka Shin Technologies (S) Pte. Ltd. (Booth N5196) opened a sales office in Vietnam because it said it sees strong opportunities in that market.
``I know a lot of my customers have committed to expanding their factories there,'' said Felix Wong, director of the firm's Singapore office.
Wong said the company opened the three-person office in Ho Chi Minh City two months ago because the mold building industry in Vietnam is developing. As well, he said that high-tech giant Intel's plan to open a US $600 million computer chip plant there in 2008 has fueled interest in the country.
Japanese, Korean and Taiwanese firms are among the strongest foreign investors there, he said. Ka Shin is a subsidiary of Tokyo, Japan-based Punch Industry Co. Ltd.
