Toy-making giant Lego A/S recently bought 490 blenders from Maguire Products Inc., the largest sale in Maguire's history.
Lego bought the new blenders to boost efficiency, namely to switch from using colored ABS to uncolored ABS and doing its own coloring in-house, said Michael McNally, senior brand relations manager for Lego Americas.
Some of the blenders could end up in some Flextronics International Ltd. facilities, after Lego announced a plan to outsource more work to the Singapore company.
``Depending on the specific equipment, we will be either lending, renting and in some cases, selling our equipment to Flextronics to produce Lego goods,'' McNally said in an e-mail.
