NPE 2006 visitors examine a futuristic car called zaZen, which was on display at the Bayer MaterialScience LLC booth. ZaZen features Bayer's Makrolon polycarbonate in its transparent dome and seats. With a six-cylinder engine, zaZen can accelerate from zero to 100 mph in 4.8 seconds. But when the concept car, with a top speed of nearly 300 mph, needs to slow down, a third brake light illuminates the roof, creating a holographic effect. ZaZen is a product of collaboration with Swiss auto design specialist Rinspeed. More on Bayer, Page 19.
