An Italian toilet seat maker and plastics processor, Drake Corp., wants to begin producing seats in the United States in 2007, a company official said at NPE 2006.
Diego Discacciati, Drake's vice president of marketing, said the company is looking at locations in North Carolina and Georgia to set up its U.S. plant. The firm is now making toilet seats in Bergamo, Italy, near Milan.
Drake also molds high-end resin chairs for use in weddings and other special events, makes coinjection molded roof tile systems, and markets a line of bags for carryout and food delivery.
Diego Discacciati discussed the company's toilet seat plans in an interview at Presma Corp.'s booth at the Chicago show. Drake uses Presma injection molding machines. He is the son of Romano Discacciati, the president of Presma Corp. of East Brunswick, N.J.
