CHICAGO (Aug. 3, 11:40 a.m. EDT) — Eastman Chemical Co. recently commercialized copolyester resin grades with blow molders in Brazil and New Jersey.
Grossplast of São Paulo, Brazil, is using Eastman's Glass Polymer-brand copolyester in its Red Apple line of suntan and sunscreen lotion bottles. The polymer has the look and feel of glass, but is lighter and more resistant to breakage, officials with Kingsport, Tenn.-based Eastman said.
In Middlesex, N.J., Container Manufacturing Inc. is using Eastman's Eastar-brand copolyester in containers for concentrated liquids. The clear containers are available in 8-, 16- and 32-ounce sizes.
