CHICAGO (Aug. 7, 4:50 p.m. EDT) — Canam Manufactured Products Inc. introduced a twin Speedryer thermodynamic hopper dryer capable of processing 100 pounds of plastics per hour.
A Y feed-throat mount links two compact, lightweight Speedryer units, each with 50-pound throughput per hour, and creates “an inexpensive way to dry more resin,” said Jim Neilson, president of the Surrey, British Columbia-based firm. A user attaches boxes for the controls and Y mount to one of the Speedryer units. The insulated hopper is made of a reinforced composite epoxy.
A Speedryer enables a user to change materials in 30 minutes or less, the company said at NPE 2006 in Chicago.
