CHICAGO (Aug. 9, 6:15 p.m. EDT) — SIH Group showcased new packaging machinery and developments at NPE in Chicago.
The Vouvry, Switzerland, firm said PTH 60 is a compact machine for making plastic tubes at the rate of 60 per minute. The company said the machine is especially well-suited for low-cost, short-run cosmetic tube production. It forms a molded tube shoulder with thread and orifice and bonds the tube head to a pre-extruded plastic sleeve.
SIH subsidiary Aisa said its Saesa laminated tube-production machine represents a new cap orientation technology that helps laminated tubes compete in the cosmetics and personal-care markets. Saesa orients a flip-top cap with the graphics of the tube to ensure high-quality appearance.
Aisapack showed its new enhanced barrier tube, developed with sister company Aisa. With oxygen and aroma barrier approaching glass, the tube is suited to cosmetics and pharmaceutical uses, according to the company. It comprises a Lamex laminate tube and the Bacomex barrier shoulder made by new compression molding technology from Aisapack.
