CHICAGO (Aug. 21, 5:55 p.m. EDT) — Chem-Pak Inc. showcased its patented product that resolves knit and flow lines created during the injection molding of matte finished parts.
Knit and flow lines are created when moisture from feeding resin into the mold needs to escape. Usually the escape is between the mold surface and the drying part and the moisture leaves a glossy path as it is forced out.
Chem-Pak offers a line of coatings that re-gloss the gas-escape path. In the past the part would have to have been disposed of or painted over.
The company, founded in 1966, is headquartered in Martinsburg, W. Va.
