GretagMacbeth LLC introduced its Color i7, an automated spectrophotometer with the profile function embedded in the instrument to verify color accuracy.
Meanwhile, GretagMacbeth became part of color-measurement technology supplier X-Rite Inc. when X-Rite of Grandville, Mich., bought GretagMacbeth's Swiss parent, Amazys Holding AG. The deal was completed July 5.
The Color i7 features a self-diagnostic function that reduces production errors and slowdowns. It uses an “open” technology that can be integrated with most digital work-flow systems.
GretagMacbeth also introduced Color iMatch 5 and Color iQC 5. Both are updated versions of its software for color formulation and quality control. The upgrades include eJobs, which stores built-in digital procedures, color specifications and instrument configurations to simplify color jobs.
GretagMacbeth is based in New Windsor, N.Y.
