Milacron Inc. has started an extrusion aftermarket group to upgrade older extruders to improved productivity, process controls, reliability and ease of maintenance.
Special services include a one-day turnaround on controls repair and a gearbox loaner program to minimize downtime at the customer.
The Cincinnati-based company offers the rebuilding and retrofit services in North and South America on all Cincinnati Milacron-brand extruders, according to Mark Birkle, business manager of the firm´s aftermarket group.
The group can upgrade extruders with several new technologies, including advanced barrels and screws, new air-cooled designs, new controls, motor and drive replacements, advanced screw-oil manifolds for precise screw heating and a new "open-core" entry adapter body for boosting output.
Milacron also offers a machine audit service, with a technician makes recommendations, either at the extrusion factory or after the extruder is shipped to Milacron´s factory in Batavia, Ohio.
