Ownership of Pomini SpA, a compounding extruder and mixer manufacturer serving the plastics and rubber industries, has passed from an Italian industrial conglomerate to a German one.
Lubeck-based L. Possehl & Co. mbH acquired the Pomini unit from Techint Group of Milan, Italy.
Pomini's headquarters factory will remain in Castellanza.
Possehl's main businesses include trading in raw materials, providing shipping insurance, environmental cleanup and production equipment for a range of industries, including precious metals, electronics, rubber and textiles. The conglomerate diversified into rubber machinery in 2005, by purchasing Thyssen Krupp Elastomertechnik, a producer of equipment for tires and rubber processors. That business, in Hamburg, Germany, now is called Harburg-Freudenberger Maschinenbau GmbH.
