Belgian polyethylene film producer Hyplast is installing a new, 65-foot blown film line, supplied by Pawcatuck, Conn.-based Davis-Standard LLC, to allow it to expand its range of agricultural films.
Hyplast of Hoogstraten manufactures monolayer and multilayer PE films for the construction, horticultural, agricultural and converting sectors. The firm has an annual capacity of 77 million pounds.
The new blown line, which includes MAC super-air-cooled extruders and an 80-inch three-layer proprietary die system, will be installed by July.
``This line will help us further our production capacity and product offering in large-scale agricultural films,'' said Hyplast Managing Director Walter Willekens.
His firm employs around 140 and is part of Hoogstraten-based Klerk's Group.
Hyplast runs 10 blown film extrusion lines, including the new machine. They are one seven-layer, three monolayer and six three-layer units.
The new extruder will run large width agricultural films, greenhouse films, barrier and container liner films.
