John Moss, 74, a prescription vial pioneer, died March 24 after a 20-year battle with Hodgkin's disease.
Moss was plant manager of M&M Industries Inc. of Chattanooga during production of the child-resistant chemical container ``Life Latch,'' produced in the late 1980s. Previously he was manager of an Owens-Illinois Inc. plant in Atlanta for many years, and for Owens Brockway.
Many of the prescription vials and safety closures on the market today were produced with Moss' key involvement in both inception and production.
Moss, who resided in Chattanooga, is survived by his wife, Sylvia.
