D-M-E Co. of Madison Heights, Mich., said its CT (for close tolerance) pins, made of M2 tool steel, have a tolerance of 0.0002 inch. The firm's previous line had a 0.0003-inch tolerance. The new pins come in diameters of 0.0625 inch to 0.25 inch with no shoulder, and 0.0625 inch to 0.0937 inch with a 2-inch shoulder. Sizes can be made to order.
In other news, D-M-E, a unit of Milacron Inc., is offering what it calls the industry's first off-the-shelf packages for helical-gear stack-mold centering systems.
The firm will introduce the pre-engineered system at Plast-Ex 2007, slated for May 1-3 in Toronto.
