The compact machine includes a new press-down device so the customer can shred even very large totes without the need to precut.
The shredder is equipped with a doghouse-design hopper that is open over the top of the rotor. Whole pieces are directly loaded into the front of the machine. After loading, the press-down device pushes the material to the bottom of the shredder. A horizontal ram pushes it into the rotor, parallel to the down stroke of the press-down device.
Weima said electronic controls run both types of pressing action by reading the amperage load on the main motor and optimizing pressure applied to the rotor.
The working width of the WLK 12 is 47.2 inches.
