Royal Group Inc. has completed a 250,000-square-foot expansion of its Bristol, Tenn., extrusion plant, which it will use to expand its cellular PVC trim operations, as well as to begin extruding rigid PVC window and door profiles to serve the southeastern United States.
The plant, in total, is now 400,000 square feet.
The Woodbridge-based company's window system, called Royal Guard, is designed for heavy-duty, storm-resistant applications in high-wind areas.
Royal officials could not be reached for comment.
Royal was acquired by Atlanta-based resins and aromatics maker Georgia Gulf Corp. in October.
``We now have the plant, the products and the people we need to participate in the growing market for durable, low-maintenance PVC building and home-improvement products in the southern USA,'' said Ed Schmitt, Georgia Gulf chairman, president and chief executive officer, in a news release.
