Water-soluble film maker MonoSol LLC has acquired the assets and intellectual property of British biodegradable materials manufacturer Adept Polymers Ltd.
According to Thomson Financial, the transaction's value was about $980,000.
Adept Polymers, based in Manchester, England, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Stanelco plc of Marchwood, England.
``This asset purchase will help us quickly advance our development and marketing of renewable biopolymers and repulpable materials,'' said P. Scott Bening, MonoSol's president and chief executive officer, in a news release.
Officials of Merrillville-based MonoSol recently announced plans for an $11 million, 30,000-square-foot expansion in La Porte, Ind.
