BASF Corp. has added a high-clarity resin to its styrene butadiene copolymer lineup.
Styrolux 3G46 combines clarity with toughness and low density to provide an alternative to PET and PVC in packaging film and sheet. The material, launched last year in Europe, now makes its debut in North America. Florham Park, N.J-based BASF said the material is aimed at blister packaging and other see-through packaging for electronic, personal-care, medical and other products. BASF claims it performs well in blown film lines, injection molding, extrusion blow molding and compounding.
