Pipe industry, meet JM Eagle.
The No. 1 and No. 2 manufacturers of PVC pipe, both significant players in the polyethylene pipe market, have merged officially, J-M Manufacturing Co. Inc. officials announced June 22.
Livingston-based J-M in January agreed to buy Eugene, Ore.-based PW Eagle Inc. for $400 million.
PW Eagle stock ceased trading on Nasdaq as of the June 22 closing bell.
Combining the names to form JM Eagle is about maintaining identity for both firms, said JM spokeswoman Kathleen Sheridan. The combined entity, based in Livingston, employs a total of about 2,300 at its 25 extrusion facilities.
