Washington-based private equity firm Carlyle Group wants to sell PVC profile and sheet maker HT Troplast AG of Troisdorf, Germany.
Carlyle owns 55 percent of the firm. Boston-based Advent International owns 45 percent.
HT Troplast is the parent of Profine International Profile Group GmbH, which oversees a group of building-product brands, including Kömmerling. Kömmerling makes cellular PVC trim and sheet.
A Carlyle spokeswoman declined to say why Carlyle is seeking bids for Troplast, which it bought in December 2004. She also declined to comment on operational changes during Carlyle's ownership.
