After nearly 20 years at Nypro Inc., Brian Jones now is president of his own management consulting firm, Coral Equity Partners, and chairman of Marietta Corp., a leading U.S. contract manufacturer and packager of personal-care products.
Now, through Coral Equity, Jones advises private-equity-owned U.S. companies on how best to optimize their supply chains, create value and maximize their business potential. He is executing such a role now with Cortland, N.Y.-based Marietta, which specializes in making personal-care amenities for the global lodging industry and contract manufacturing for leading consumer-goods companies. He also is busy advising several other companies.
Jones joined injection molder Nypro in 1987 to manage the quality function and advanced through a series of executive positions until he was elected president of Nypro North America in 1999 and then president of Nypro Inc. in January 2002. He added CEO duties in September 2003. When he left the company in February 2006, it had grown into a billion-dollar contract manufacturer with more than 13,000 employees in 18 countries.
Among the innovations he introduced to the Clinton, Mass.-based company were the annual Nypro World Management Forum and the firm's distance learning facility, Nypro Online, which offers plastics training to Nypro employees globally and the general public.
Jones, who lives in Framingham, Mass., holds bachelor of science degrees in education and engineering, plus an MBA from Nichols College in Dudley, Mass. He is a former board member of National Association of Manufacturers in Washington, D.C., and remains active with the Arlington Heights, Ill.-based Association of Manufacturing Excellence, of which he is a past president.
