Network Polymers Inc. has assumed majority control of Akron-based Ed-Lynn Network LLC, a plastics additives venture it formed in 2003.
Network Polymers - an Akron resin distributor - has renamed the business unit Network Performance Additives. NPA will continue to provide antioxidants, ultraviolet-light stabilizers and customized additives to a range of customers.
The unit's management team will consist of business development directors Rick Wilk and John Boles, general manager Scott Arnopolin and Chief Executive Officer Alan Woll. Wilk has extensive industry experience with Ciba Specialty Chemicals, while Boles previously was with Cytec Industries Inc. and Great Lakes Chemical Corp.
In a recent news release, NPA said it has formed an alliance with Sabo SPL, a performance chemicals maker in Bergamo, Italy. Under the agreement, Sabo will toll manufacture products to NPA specifications for sales in North America. Network also confirmed additives-distribution deals with Dorsett & Jackson Inc. on the West Coast and with Loyal Partners International in Mexico and South America.
Ed-Lynn Network was a partnership between Network and Ed-Lynn Corp., a Toronto-based additives maker and distributor. Network and NPA operate jointly with ABS maker and compounder Diamond Polymers Inc. of Akron. Both Network and Diamond are owned by Woll, a longtime industry veteran.
