Boltaron Performance Products LLC is investing $3 million to retrofit its third calendering line, boosting its print-stock sheet capacity by at least 30 million pounds a year.
The company said it will add new feeding and take-off systems, and build a rooftop enclosure to house part of the system at its 175,000-square-foot headquarters facility in Newcomerstown, Ohio. BPP expects to complete the project by the first quarter of 2008.
``We have made great strides at Boltaron in increasing our productivity and quality over the past several years,'' said Lawrence Schorr, BPP owner and president, in an e-mail.
``However, the strength in all of our market segments and our increasing market share requires us to increase our capacity quickly and dramatically.''
The investment will increase the site's output to more than 75 million pounds.
BPP also expects to increase its vinyl extrusion business by adding a third twin-screw extrusion line. The line will enable BPP to expand production for the aerospace and transportation markets, while providing material for thermoforming and fabrication. The line should start operating by the second quarter of 2008.
Boltaron is a privately held vinyl film, compounding, calendering, extrusion and press laminating business. It serves markets for secure and nonsecure cards, fire-retardant products, aerospace and mass transportation.
