Priamus System Technologies LLC of Brunswick, Ohio, has developed the Priasafe principle to protect cavity pressure sensors for injection molding — especially important for small molds.
The smaller the cavity pressure sensors are, the higher the risk that the sensor front touches the mounting bore, making the sensor lose sensitivity, Priamus said.
The company has patented the Priasafe method. New types, 6010B and 6011B, have a front diameter of 2.5 millimeters and a very short sensor body. The design allows the replacement of conventional cavity pressure sensors with that tiny front diameter by simply remachining the mounting bore.
The extremely small cavity pressure sensors are fixed either without thread, with the help of distance sleeves, or with a thread, which is located directly on the sensor itself.
