OYONNAX, FRANCE (Sept. 10, 5:20 p.m. EDT) — French injection press maker Billion SA will show high-speed, two-component housewares molding at K 2007, working with British housewares maker Thumbs Up (Bury) Ltd.
Thumbs Up of Bury, England, bought seven Billion presses, in clamping forces of 50-100 metric tons, at the beginning of the year.
The housewares molder already was running two-shot parts — smaller-sized food containers — on a smaller twin-shot Billion press, but the 600-tonne machine that will run at K is its first, larger-tonnage press to mold a storage box. Cycle times will be about 20 seconds.
Billion is based in Oyonnax.
