More than 70 injection molding machines, along with auxiliary equipment, will be auctioned off from the closed-down Hoover vacuum cleaner plant in North Canton, in a major sale Nov. 13-15.
Stopol Auctions LLC of Solon, Ohio, is conducting the event, which is being compared with the 2004 auction of Rubbermaid Home Products' plant in Wooster, Ohio.
The presses, with clamping forces of 50-2,200 tons, include machines made by Van Dorn, Cincinnati Milacron, HPM and Reed. The Hoover plant closed earlier this year when new owner Techtronic Industries Co. Ltd. of Hong Kong moved plastics molding to sites in Texas, Mexico and China.
Stopol also will air the Hoover auction via a Webcast on its site, www.stopol.com.
