Cumberland Engineering Inc. used the K 2007 trade show in Dusseldorf for the global introduction of its redesigned 25 Series general purpose granulators and its X Series central granulators.
The 25 Series, known as Model 1018 in the United States, includes a dual ``feed roller'' assembly for handling two edge trims of different thicknesses, with guide rollers for shock absorbers to prevent trim breakages. The improvements help it handle thinner materials more consistently, the company said.
The X Series includes a new rotor design, with an open, five-knife rotor equipped with replaceable carriers and rotating end discs, as well as a hydraulic opening of the upper half of the cutting chamber, replacing the electro-mechanical opening on earlier models, the company said. Access to internal components for knife adjustments and other changes also is improved, Cumberland said.
