Guangdong Jinming Plastics Equipment Co. Ltd. has installed 12 lines in the United States and Canada since its official North American debut at NPE 2006, President Ma Zhenxin said at K 2007.
``We are very pleased with the progress in the U.S. market,'' Ma said. ``We expect North America to become our second-largest export market.''
Currently Southeast Asia is Jinming's largest export destination, representing 33 percent of the firm's export sales.
At the K show in Dusseldorf, the Shantou-based machinery maker announced the sale of two multilayer lines, one to Sun Coast Plastics Inc. of Brooksville, Fla. The three-layer line consists of three sets of air-cooled extruders and a 350-millimeter-diameter die. The maximum lay-flat width is 1,600mm and maximum output is 400 kilograms per hour. Jinming said the line integrates a U.S.-made four-component gravimetric dosing system from CRG Logistics Inc., a Swiss-made Kundig thickness-gauge system and a programmable logic controller from Austria's B&R.
The other sale, of a five-layer line, was to a customer in Singapore.
Jinming sells about 100 lines annually, and nearly half are being exported this year. The company said 2007 sales will see a 20 percent increase compared with last year.
The company currently employs 300, but is constructing a new plant and doubling manufacturing space.
The facilities will cover 16 acres, said Ma Danjie, an assistant to the president.
``The K show is the Olympics for the plastics industry,'' Ma Zhenxin said. ``We are here to showcase the latest of the Chinese plastics industry.''
